How Much Chicken And Beef Should I Buy To Make Tacos For 100 People?
I am planning a taco lunch for the high school band. We plan to serve a choice of shredded chicken or ground beef tacos with all the usual toppings, rice, beans, chips and salsa. How much chicken and how much beef would you suggest I buy to make these? And why do you suggest that amount? Need answers ASAP as I start cooking tomorrow.
Purchase those bags of boneless, skinless frozen chicken breasts you can get at Costco. You’ll need probably 20 pounds. Shred and add your seasonings, such as chili verde sauce, salt, pepper, etc. For the burger, you’ll probably need another 25 pounds as well as taco seasoning packets. You’ll need to drain off the extra fat before serving. Each taco should have between 1 and 2 oz. of meat.
20 pounds each should be more than sufficient as the taco stuffing would have other ingredients as well.
More veggies mixed with extra cheese is most liked by youth….not just meat.
70 pounds of each on.
